Welcome to The Butterfly Potential, where transformation meets impact. Inspired by the butterfly effect, the name embodies the spirit of butterflies, symbolic of creativity, transformation and embracing new beginnings. It also reflects the guiding mantra I have had throughout my career: small, carefully curated decisions have a powerful and lasting impact.

The Butterfly Potential’s mission is to empower individuals, teams, schools, and organisations to unlock their full potential and have the most impact. Whether you are looking for bespoke and engaging school support, or after a professional, accurate and culturally responsive translation, you are in the right place and I am looking forward to working with you!

Education Consultancy

I bring you over 20 years’ experience in education and school improvement, with particular expertise in primary languages, EAL pedagogy and vocabulary development. I believe in the power of a coaching approach, and I provide training courses, individual, team or whole-school support that is tailored to your needs.

Translation

I am particularly interested in the fields of literature, education, culture, and the arts but can help you with other areas of translation. You are in the right place if you want:

  • human-generated and culturally appropriate translations which speak directly to your audience, instead of bot translations which sound like everyone else.
  • translations from English and Spanish to French, or from French and Spanish to English, which are full of personality and harness storytelling techniques beyond what machine translations can provide.
  • a second and sharp pair of eyes on your English or French copy. Make sneaky errors a thing of the past and add a bit of sparkle to your copy.

Testimonials

  • I really enjoyed the workshop as I love poetry and I was able to learn more about the skills involved in translating. I also learned lots of new vocabulary. Having translated a full poem from French into English was really rewarding. The workshop instructor was helpful in supporting me refine my translation as well as encouraging me to be even more creative with my final translation.

Stephanie has been an invaluable asset, and I highly recommend her expertise to any school looking to enhance their MFL teaching.

  • Stéphanie had already delivered several successful language staff meetings in our primary school and I knew she would be the perfect person to do a mini deep dive into the French curriculum I had created. Prior to her visit, Stephanie had looked closely at my long-term plans as well as our school website. There was no time wasted on the day. Stephanie analysed the class floor books, looking for progression. She made some valuable suggestions regarding implementing a systematic approach to the three pillars of language learning, with a stronger focus on phonics. Stephanie is knowledgeable and is a true advocate of language learning. She is also enthusiastic and a pleasure to work with.
